West Coast, Best Coast

I could probably drive along Highway-1 along California's coast for the rest of my life and never tire of the view. Although I might be stuck in a perpetual state of motion sickness — the winding roads and company of giant cliffs mere feet away added an uneasy thrill to the experience. Of course, it is important be cautious while making those sharp and narrow turns...but there's no reason why you can't pretend to be in one of those fancy car commercials while you're at it.

Personally I love to drive, so I could spend all day blaring my music as I ride up and down the Pacific Coast, but the infamous Big Sur region gave me good reason to stop the car. There are multiple turnout points along the way, which offer some of the most spectacular sights I have seen in all of my travels. The deep blue and turquoise water sprinkled with jagged rocks and specks of the sunlight had me ready to pitch a tent on the beaches below and live right there forever. If only...

Instead I spent the day exploring the coast, eating lunch at a beautiful cafe overlooking the ocean, and trying not to fall off the edges of cliffs.
